How to use Crochet Flowers

Crochet flowers can be used to make pretty hair clips, and most patterns are beginner friendly! Once you have made one flower, you will soon be creating dozens in your favourite colours. Perfect for Wedding Favors, party packs, decorating wrapped gifts, or adding to your crochet blankets.

The flowers look so beautiful added as an accent to a baby blanket. You can add a pin to the back of the flower to make a brooch, make a baby’s hair clip or add one to a child’s hat.

Add a crochet leaf to your flowers for the finishing touch! You can find a leaf pattern below.

Best Yarn for Crochet Flowers

I use scraps of DK weight yarn and 4 ply/fingering weight yarn for my flowers, but you can use any yarn weight you wish – just use a matching hook. My favourite yarn for making flowers is a cotton yarn as it washes well, keeps its shape and comes in a huge selection of colors! With excellent stitch definition, cotton yarn is perfect for smaller projects like these crochet flowers.

Large Crochet Flower Pattern

I love Large Colorful Crochet Flowers! You can use any scraps of yarn you have in your stash – the more colorful the better! The added texture of the popcorn stitches makes this Large Crochet Flower Pattern extra special.
