How to Crochet 3d Flowers

I designed this pattern to be suitable for everyone. Creating the chains behind the petals can seem a bit tricky at first but you will soon get the hang of it.

The small flowers above are made using a sports-weight cotton and a 3mm hook. You could also use a heavier weight yarn and make larger flowers – experiment with whatever yarn you have and enjoy creating different colour combinations!

The flowers below are made with an Aran/Worsted weight yarn and a 4mm hook.

How to Use Crochet 3D Flowers

  • Add these to an Easter wreath in pastel colours, or they would be adorable sewn to a Baby Blanket.
  • You could create a bunch of these flowers for a flower bouquet
  • My favourite way to use them is to attach to a hair pin or clip for a cute hair accessory!
  • You can add a pin to the back of the flower to make a brooch, or add one to a child’s hat

These pretty flowers only take minutes to make, and are perfect for adding as embellishments to your projects. . You could also make some crochet leaves to add to your flowers, and you can find a leaf pattern in the link below

  1. Thank you very much! The pattern is so easy to follow, that I have been able to make micro flowers using a size 40 crochet thread. They are approximately 15mm diameter and I am using them to decorate a potpourri sachet. Very pretty!
