Best Yarn for Crochet Flowers

Cotton yarn is ideal for crochet flowers, thanks to its durability and great stitch definition. It also creates a stiffer fabric that will help the flowers hold their shape. I do recommend you lightly block your daisies to give them a smooth finish.

You can use any yarn you have at hand for the daisy flowers. Make sure you match your hook to the yarn weight.

  • Fingering or sportsweight yarn, use a 3 mm or a 3.5 mm crochet hook
  • Dk weight yarn, use a 4 mm crochet hook
  • Worsted weight yarn, use a 4.5 mm hook

  • Hobbii –  Rainbow Cotton 8/6 Sport – 100% cotton/115yds/105m/50g
  • Colors – cream (002), yellow (055), old rose (046), rose (044), petunia pink (087)
  • 3.5 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle

Flower made in sportsweight yarn measure 3.5 in [9 cm] across
