This pretty vintage-inspired crochet flower hexagon brings a touch of nostalgia to your projects. This beautiful lace motif works up quickly in just 4 rounds, making it perfect for both confident beginners and experienced crocheters.
After the wonderful response to my Vintage Lace Flower Square, I’m excited to share this free crochet pattern for a hexagon flower motif with you. It’s always lovely to crochet something a little different than traditional granny hexagons, and I think you’ll love this lacy hexagon pattern.

Construction of a Crochet Hexagon
A crochet hexagon will have 6 sides and 6 corners. This lace hexagon crochet pattern is very straightforward. The first two rounds use just double crochet stitches and chain spaces. In round 3, you’ll work treble crochet clusters – they may take a little practice, but the finished effect creates those beautiful flower petals. You can really see the lovely lacy pattern forming.
Round 4 uses double crochet stitches again to finish off the six-sided hexagon and create those perfect even edges. The lovely lacy flower pattern really comes to life as you work through the rounds.
These pretty crochet flower hexagons are so quick and satisfying – I found them quite addictive to make once I got started.

Materials & Yarn Suggestions
I used some yarn I had in my stash to make my lacy hexagons – Scheepjes River Washed, a sport weight yarn, with a 4mm hook.
You can use any yarn and matching hook you choose. I think this crochet hexagon pattern would look gorgeous in DK weight yarn for a cozy blanket, or try fingering weight yarn for a delicate lacy shawl.
Project Ideas for Your Crochet Flower Hexagons
These versatile crochet flower hexagons are perfect for so many beautiful projects.
Join several together to create elegant placemats or a stunning table runner for special occasions. For larger projects, you can crochet dozens of hexagons to make a gorgeous lacy blanket or lightweight summer shawl. They also work wonderfully as individual coasters, or you could create a beautiful wall hanging by arranging them in a honeycomb pattern.
