You can use 400m of any fingering weight yarn to make this shawl.
Notes
- The main body of the shawl is worked in one piece bottom-up, increasing on each side until a shallow wide triangle is made.
- The edging is added to 2 sides of the shawl.
- You can use a contrast color for the edging if you wish.
- The shawl can be made larger or smaller by working more or fewer pattern repeats. This will alter the amount of yarn required.

Rows 7 – 44: repeat rows 5-6. Do not fasten off.
Note: You may need to work more or less rows depending on your yardage. Leave a small amount of yarn to work the border. Always finish on a row 6 repeat of the pattern.
Border
You will be working down first side of shawl to ‘peak’ (beg of pattern). You will place each sc in either a ch-4 sp or a side post of a tr, as you work your way along the side.
Turn piece to work down 1st side, ch 1, picot (see special stitches), ch 1, 1 sc around 1st row end, * [ch 1, picot, ch 1, 1 sc] in next row end; rep from * working down the side of the shawl to the ‘peak’ and continuing up the 2nd side. You will work last sc in ch-7 sp and [ch 1, picot, ch 1, sl st] into 4th ch of ch-7 sp. Fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in all loose ends. Lay project out to finished size and pull gently into shape. Pin in place placing pins on each point of a picot. Spray lightly with water and leave to dry. You can wet block shawl if desired – check your yarn fiber instructions. Add tassels if you wish.
