Sharing is caring!

It is September, so that means back to school! If you love to crochet, this fun and easy free pattern for a pencil case will make a great project!

It uses a sturdy cotton yarn Anchor Baby Pure Cotton from Anchor Crafts, and I made two colour versions to suit everyone! The lovely people at Anchor Crafts kindly sent some of their yarn to use, and I loved making this project to share!

I think any little people going to school would love to have this in their school bag every day. You could also use one as the perfect little pouch for your crochet hooks!

You can find the link to the free pattern further down the page.

The textured stitch used is a HDC spike stitch, that is so simple but looks more complex. The tight crochet stitches make a sturdy case which you could line with fabric, if you like.

What Size for a Crochet Pencil Case

The crochet pencil case measures 8.5 x 4.25in [22 x 11cm] and is large enough to hold all the pens and those little extras. All you need are small amounts of yarn and a zip to fit, and you will have one complete in a few hours!
