Yarn

The yarn I used is no longer available. Stylecraft Special Aran would be a good substitute.

You can use any Aran Weight/Worsted Weight yarn to make this blanket – approx 1200m. You can also use a different yarn weight to make a smaller or larger blanket, using a matching hook but keep in mind your yardage requirements will vary.

Read on for Instructions and all the details to make this colourful blanket. It was crocheted with an Aran Weight yarn –Deramore Studio Aran. I have included the details of the yarn and colours I used.

  1. I was wanting to make a toddler size blanket with this pattern, but use a blanket yarn…do you have any recommendations on how to find out how much yarn to purchase to accomplish this? Thank you in advance!

    1. I really don’t know much about blanket yarn as I have never used it! But I would imagine you would use rather a lot (but quick to make). I suggest you look on Ravelry for the same weight yarn and blanket patterns. You will get an idea of yardage from that hopefully. I would purchase a ball of the yarn and try out a swatch to see how much of it is used and work from there:)
