Modern Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern – Poppy’s Blanket

April 18, 2019
Crochet Free pattern for modern baby blanket from Annie Design Crochet

Would you like to crochet a baby blanket that has plenty of texture and with a fresh, gender neutral colour palette? I am happy to share with you the Modern Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern, and all the details you need to make your own baby blanket. You can use this pattern to make a blanket from stash yarn, or change around the colour repeats to give a completely different look to your blanket. It would look very striking in just two colours!

I posted the stitch tutorial for the Granny Spike Stitch that I used to make this blanket last week (it has a photo tutorial for this stitch which may be helpful)

Granny Spike Stitch

and I can finally share the blanket with you now! It was made for a very special new arrival to my family – a beautiful baby girl named Poppy. Just look how squishy that texture is! I used a larger than recommended hook, and it created a gorgeous loose drape. The yarn I used, is so soft and beautiful to crochet with. Hobbii Yarn Baby Merino XL
