Crochet Flower Garland! Make as many of these flowers as you wish and join them easily together, to make your own garland.

Materials

Paintbox Cotton DK or any DK cotton of your choice

3.5mm crochet hook

Darning needle

Instructions for Flower Motif (US terms)

With Colour A, ch5. Sl st into first ch to form a ring.

Round 1 : Ch3 (counts as 1st dc), make 15dc into ring. Join with a sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch3. Fasten off yarn. (16dc)

Round 2 :  Using Colour B, join in any st. Ch2, 1dc in same st (counts as 1st dc2tog), dc2tog in next st, ch5, * (dc2tog in next st) 2 times, ch5; repeat from * 6 more times. Join with a sl st to top of 1st dc. Fasten off yarn. (8 petals, 8 ch-5 spaces)

 Round 3 : Using Colour C, join in any ch-5 space, ch1, (1sc, 1hdc, 2dc, ch1, 2dc, 1hdc, 1sc) in same ch-5 space. * (1sc, 1hdc, 2dc, ch1, 2dc, 1hdc, 1sc) in next ch-5 space; repeat from * around. Join with a sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off yarn. (8 petals)

Finishing

Block motifs by steaming gently with an iron.

Using any yarn colour to join motifs, ch20, sl st into first ch to form a hanging loop, ch15. Holding first flower motif with RS in front, * make 1sc in centre ch-1 sp of any petal, ch5, make 1sc in centre ch-1 sp of next petal, ch15; taking next motif, repeat from * until all motifs are attached. Ch35, sl st back into 20th ch from hook to form 2nd hanging loop, and fasten off threads.
