Christmas Crochet Stars – Free Pattern

October 11, 2019

These Christmas Crochet Stars are not traditional perhaps, but their bold beautiful colours will brighten up any home! This free crochet pattern uses only small scraps of cotton yarn, to make these unconventional Christmas crochet decorations.

You can make them as individual Christmas crochet stars and add a hanging loop to use on your Holiday tree or mantle. You could also combine several to make a crochet garland! Include one in your Christmas cards, or add as a lovely touch to embellish your gifts.

I called these crochet stars Nollag Réaltaí – The Irish for Christmas Stars. I would pronounce it Nullig Rail-tee, but it can differ in parts of Ireland how certain words are pronounced!

Includes instructions in US and UK Crochet terms

Check out this gorgeous free pattern for Crochet Christmas Baubles to complete your Holiday decorating. All you need are small amounts of cotton yarn to make these colourful crochet decorations!

Notes

  • The pattern is written in US and UK Crochet terms
  • Tension is not important for this pattern
  • The crochet stars are approx. 4in [10cm] wide, when using the suggested yarn weight and hook
  • You could use a heavier weight yarn and matching hook to make larger stars, just see what is in your stash!
  • Use a slightly smaller hook than recommended for your yarn, to keep the Crochet Stars firm
