Crochet Half Circle Shawl Details
This semi-circular shawl is crocheted from the top down with an easy to remember increase sequence. You will be using just the double crochet stitch throughout so it is an easy stitch pattern to work up.
Read through the notes section carefully before you start and check out the handy stitch count chart to keep you on track!
As for yarn choices, I’ve opted for DK weight yarn for my own shawl, but feel free to go with worsted weight yarn if that’s what you prefer. Just match it with a suitable hook size, and you can stop crocheting once your shawl reaches your desired dimensions.

Finishing
Your shawl will benefit from blocking. Soak in lukewarm water, squeeze out gently and roll in a towel. Pin out to desired size, leave until completely dry.
Tassel Instructions
Make 21 tassels as follows: Using for eg. a phone approx. 3-4” in width, cut a 12” length of yarn and lay across top of mobile – this will be used to tie top of tassel.
Wrap yarn around phone about 20 times (depending on thickness required). Using the 12” tie, knot top of tassel tightly. Cut tassel at opposite end. Wrap another length of yarn around tassel 1/2” from top approx. 6 times and knot ends together.
Trim if needed and sew securely using ties, evenly spaced (3 tassels in each wedge) along bottom of shawl.
